Who is Courtney??

I just thought that it would be a good idea to explain who our little "addition" to our family is.  Her name is Courtney May Fischer.  She is about 6 months older than Ellie, meaning she was born the end of October 2005.  I am her mom's visiting teacher.

Courtney's mom and dad (Matt & Angie) aren't active in the church yet are very good people.  I have spent the past year trying to get to know Angie  to better fulfill any need that might arise.  I really cared about the Fischer family from the beginning so I just kept trying to get in their door.  Finally the months and months of effort paid off.

We started babysitting Courtney the first of January.  We have her twice a week; Wednesday & Thursdays.  It really feels like I have two busy twins during those days because they are soooo close in age!  However, i don't really mind all that much because I just love the two girls to pieces!!  This also gives me practice for when we do finally have more than one child.

I think that Courtney, and this whole situation, has been an answer to prayers on behalf of Ellie.  Ellie is a very wonderful child who needs to have people around.  She needs someone to play with and to encourage her to excel.  Bryan and I plan to have another baby some time this year but last fall that didn't seem fast enough.  Ellie needed a sibling and fast!!

Courtney is great for Ellie because she is so close to Ellie's age yet far enough away to encourage Ellie to move forward in her development.  Ellie wasn't crawling or scooting before Courtney arrived.  She'd "high center" on her bellie, flail her arms & legs and whine for me to come and move her but once Courtney came, she was NOT to be out done!!!

The girls spend all day just loving each other.  They get so excited to see one another.  They squeal like two little girls!  They chase each other around the house giggling.  Courtney walks & sits on Ellie just to make sure that she knows where she fits on the "food chain".  I think that it's good for both of them to have each other. They both are learning to share....and to share me.  Ellie is so much more daring, adventurous and able to just DO since our little Courtney came to be with us.

WE LOVE HER!!!
